Prized for their large globe-shaped clusters of showy colors in shades of pink, blue, and white, hydrangea are a classic shrub for the landscape. Grafted hydrangea also make a lovely choice of small ornamental tree for tight spaces, formal gardens, and as a specimen. Blooms open in mid-summer and often last until fall. Flower heads can be left on for winter interest, trimmed back after blooming, or preserved for dried flower arrangements. Excellent cut flower.

Plant in rich, evenly moist soils with adequate drainage. Hydrangeas perform best under sunny morning light, but with shelter from harsh afternoon sun.
