Few things evoke the warmth of spring better than the smell of blooming lilacs. Highly fragrant blooms in shades of purple, pink, and white emerge in early spring, and are a pleasant cut flower for bouquets. Lovely green leaves provide coverage throughout the summer.

Japanese Tree Lilac is larger and blooms slightly later than other varieties. These are a good choice for summer fragrance or areas too large for smaller ornamental tree varieties.

Plant in well-drained soil for best results, full to partial sun. Grafted tree forms of lilac make an excellent small specimen tree in a small space or within a landscape bed. Deer resistant.
