» Minimize pesticide use while maintaining a more weed free lawn

1. The first application of the season would include traditional liquid fertilizer as well as a pre-emergent grassy weed control and broadleaf herbicide.

2. The 3 remaining applications would use Nature Safe Granular Fertilizer 16 - 0 - 2 and spot spray for broadleaf weeds. This plan would give some crabgrass control and remove the initial germination of broadleaf weeds. Spot spraying reduces pesticide use by not doing blanket applications. You may have some light weed pressure with this plan.

» Allow lawn "clean up" and taking an organic approach

1. Season one would consist of a traditional lawn care program to remove as much weed pressure as possible.
Season two lawn care would include traditional lawncare treatments for applications #1 and #2 to mitigate any carryover weeds. Applications #3 and #4 would then convert to Nature Safe Granular Fertilizer 16 - 0 - 2 and spot spraying for broadleaf weeds.

2. In subsequent seasons, it is recommended not to abandon the traditional lawn care approach but instead to take a minimized approach. Application #1 would consist of traditional lawn care treatments. Applications 2-4 would be Nature Safe Granular Fertilizer and spot spraying for broadleaf weeds.

This would be the best approach to keeping your lawn looking good with minimal weed pressure.
